PMCA licensees will now be able to copy most UK newspapers under the terms of their PMCA licences, following an agreement reached between PMCA and NLA media access, the UK’s newspaper licensing agency. This further simplifies licensing of international content and expands the breadth content available to PMCA and NLA media access licensees. The PMCA is committed to growing a range of similar international agreements with its peers abroad .
The new agreement is reciprocal, and allows NLA media access licensees to use NZ content. This covers print and web content, and includes rights for media monitoring companies as well as businesses and PR users.
PMCA is focused on making copyright compliance easy. We know that international content is increasingly important to NZ businesses and we will continue to work to make it easier for NZ Inc. to access and use international news.
